To acheive the equivalency the students must comply with the following:
- General conditions for the equivalency:
- 12 years of schooling
- Students must have passed at least two subjects at the Advance level (A- Level) in addition to six subjects at the Ordinary level (O- Level) passing grades should be A*-E in the A level, and A-D in the O level.
- Arabic should be one of the eight subjects for an Arab student studying in an Arab country.
The subject should be one of the following:
- Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and A2 (paper1&2) Code (XAA01 & YAA01) -Edexcel Board
- IGCSE / O level – Arabic as a First language – code (4AA01) Edexcel Board
- IGCSE / O level – Code (0508) – CIE Board
- O Level – Arabic – Code (3180) – CIE Board
- The same subject in two levels is considered two separate subjects in the equivalency.
- Ministry of Education subjects taken at school:
-Islamic Education, Arabic, English, physical Education, National Education (grades 9&10), Jordan History (grade 11&12)
- School certificates of grades 9,10,11 & 12 with a passing grade.
- Computing is considered a science subject at both levels
- Graduation year is the last year during which a student can acquire the requirements of the equivalency.
- Tawjihi Equivalency in the Scientific stream:
To gain equivalency with the scientific stream, the following is required:
- Six passes in O level /IGCSE / GCSE exams including:
- Two passes in sciences subjects
- One pass in Arabic
- Two passes in A- Level
Obligatory subject:
- Full A – Level in Mathematics (AS/A2) or Full A – Level in Physics (AS/A2)
Optional subjects:
- Full A- Level in any science subject
- Or two AS’s in any two sciences
- Tawjihi Equivalency in the Literary Stream
To gain equivalency with the literary stream the following is required:
- Six passes in O – level /IGCSE/ GCSE exam including :
- Tow passes in science subjects
- One pass in Arabic
- Two passes in A- Level
Obligatory subject:
Optional subjects:
- Full A-Level in any other literary subject
- Two AS’s in any two literary subjects
- Or one AS literary subject and one AS in a scientific subject.
- The final percentage of a score is calculated as follows:
