• What is the American High School Diploma?

 

The American High School Diploma is a school leaving qualification awarded upon high school graduation.

The high school diploma is typically obtained after a course of study lasting four years, from grade 9 to grade 12 where the officially enrolled students in this program must satisfy certain requirements (credit hours and external exams) to obtain the certificate and the local equivalency.

 

Who is eligible for admissions in the American High School Diploma program?

Grade 9:

The students who were enrolled in the national and the international program (whether British, American or IB) in grade 8.

Grade 10:

 The students who were enrolled in the national and the international programs (whether British, American or IB) in grade 9.

Grade 11:

ONLY the students who were enrolled in the international programs (whether British, American or IB) in grade 10.

Grade 12:

ONLY the students who were enrolled in the American program in grade 11.

 

What are the assessments the students can take at Schools of Retaal International Academy?

 

RIA follows rigid framework to cover the requirements of the American High School Diploma in conformity with the Jordanian MOE and the international accreditation agencies (AI) which accreadited our schools in 2013.

 

All the students earn credits in the major subject areas:

Mathematics (1&2)

English language and literature (1&2)

Sciences (Biology, Physics and Chemistry)

U.S History

Arabic language (AS/ A2)

Jordan history

Islamic education

The students in the American High School program at RIA are expected to sit for the following international assessments whether for obtain their local universities and apply for the global universities outside Jordan.

 

Each student has a special session with the program coordinator who guides them on their options after checking the local or global admission requirements.
